Wei Song  received the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from Jeonbuk National University, Jeonju, South Korea, in 2006 and 2009, respectively. He is currently a Professor of computational intelligence and machine learning with the School of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, Jiangnan University, Wuxi, China. He is also a Senior Member of IEEE, Senior Member of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) / IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society (SMCS), Distinguished Member of China Computer Federation (CCF), and Senior Member of Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA).

He has over 150 publications (five books and more than 120 journal papers) with articles appearing in IEEE TEVC, TNNLS, TETCI, TCYB, TSMC-S, etc. He has hosted more than 10 National and Provincial-Level programs and projects, including National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC, two general ones and a youth one), National Foreign Expert Program of China, Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province (two general ones) etc. He won the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) in 2019 and 2014. He was also the recipient of the Zhiquan Rong Award and the Sangma Award. He won the Best Paper Award of 2023 IEEE/ACIS International Conference on Computer and Information Science, the First Runner-Up of Competition on Dynamic Optimization Problems Generated by Generalized Moving Peaks Benchmark in 2024 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (WCCI), and the Second Runner-Up of Competition on Constrained Dynamic Multiobjective Optimization in 2025 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC). He guided students to win the Best Paper Award in the 7th International Conference on Data-Driven Optimization of Complex Systems (DOCS 2025). He was often invited to serve as a reviewer for several International Journals including IEEE TPAMI, TEVC, TNNLS, TETCI, TCYB, TSMC-S, TIP, TMM, and TCSVT and serve as a chairman, member of the program committee, and keynote speaker for multiple international conferences. He served as a conference and communication evaluation expert for NSFC, and as a review expert for the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center under the Ministry of Education of China.
